HB
7121 was passed during the 2006 Legislative Session
and will become law on July 1, 2006. The bill includes
measures that attempt to remedy the problems with
emergency systems exposed by the last two hurricane
seasons.
The
new law requires that residential multifamily dwelling

(used by owners) and that elevator have an alternative
power source (generator). The bill also requires
that an emergency operations plan be set in
place and available for inspection by local
authorities.
High
